Puerto Vallarta shopping has never been better. A new Sam's Club has all your volume needs covered, while beach vendors carry an array of jewlery, metals, arts, crafts and trinkets. There are many fine shops and galleries for the upper class, but if you get a chance, you must explore the local mercados where you can find almost anything at a real bargain. Of course it is a fun time bartering and practicing.

Puerto Vallarta you will find some of the most exciting and unique shopping opportunities anywhere. Puerto Vallarta shopping offers sampling of just about everything made in Mexico: silver, blown glass, pottery, serapes, sandals and other arts and crafts.

There are a number of excellent shops -- some near the beach, some in major hotels, and a great many on the main downtown shopping strips, Juarez and Morelos.

One of the largest shopping malls is in Puerto Vallarta is Villa Vallarta, located opposite the Plaza Las Glorias and Continental Plaza hotels. There are lots of stores here connected by walkways and portals to permit convenient shopping.

"Las Iguanas Festival Center", Marina Vallarta’s leading mall, is a brightly colored two-story complex with waterfalls, cascading pools and an open courtyard. As the name suggests, it is more than a collection of stores, it also houses fine restaurants and nightspots, and hosts cultural events. Located at the entrance to the marina is Plaza Neptuno, a nice shopping center with beautiful garden rest areas.

Another shopping center is Plaza Marina that is beautiful to see and fun to visit.

The "Mercado Central" shopping center, located downtown, between the two bridges, is a typical market, with negotiable prices and every conceivable souvenir item.

Shopping stores in Puerto Vallarta are closed during the hottest time of day, from 2 to 4 p.m. Most open in the morning around 10 a.m. and stay open until 8 p.m., so you’ll find plenty of time for strolling the streets and discovering your favorite shops and shopping opportunities.
